Ms. Rahn and Mr. DeFillippo have extensive experience not only in each of New Mexico’s Courts (the New Mexico District Court, the New Mexico Court of Appeals, and the New Mexico Supreme Court) but also in federal court (including the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals). Ms. Rahn is a nationally recognized expert in excessive force matters and has taught and consulted on the law regarding use of force across the country. Both Ms. Rahn and Mr. DeFillippo have litigated matters of first impression in relation to complex issues involving the New Mexico Tort Claims Act and the New Mexico Civil Rights Act. In addition, Ms. Rahn and Mr. DeFillippo have extensive knowledge regarding numerous state statutes including the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, the New Mexico Whistleblower Act, the New Mexico Procurement Code, the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, and many others.
Prior to forming Rahn & DeFillippo, both Ms. Rahn and Mr. DeFillippo were partners at a prominent law firm in New Mexico where they gained valuable experience working with and acting on behalf of state, county, and municipal governments. During their previous employment, Ms. Rahn and Mr. DeFillippo had the pleasure of representing various governments entities.
